The Butler Economic
Development Commission (EDC) is responsible for reviewing petitions for
Economic Revitalization Area designations and Economic Development Target
Area designations. Such a designation is the first step for a real
estate or personal property tax abatement. The EDC makes a
recommendation to the Common Council concerning the designation and the
tax abatement.
The EDC meets on an
as-need basis. The Commission posts notice of all its meetings 48 hours
in advance in the Butler Post Office, Butler City Utility Office, and
Butler City Hall.
These meetings are open to the public.
